Fairies are real: Man claims to have photographed real-life tiny fairies flying [video]

Manchester lecturer John Hyatt, 53, captured the enchanting images of what he says are fairies in the Rossendale Valley.
The existence of fairies has long been dismissed and resigned to the realm of children’s books and Disney films. However Manchester Metropolitan University lecturer John Hyatt claims he now has proof the creatures are real and are residing in the Rossendale Valley. And he is on a mission to get more adults to believe and ‘bring a bit of magic into their lives.’

John Hyatt, Director of Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design (MIRIAD) at Manchester Metropolitan University snapped images of what he claims are the tiny winged creatures whilst out photographing the Lancashire landscape over the last two years. And he has now put his photographs on display at a special exhibition.

John, 53, who was a member of the Three Johns punk band in the 1980s and 1990s insists his photos are genuine and have not been altered in any way.

And he says adults that have seen them have begun to harbour ideas that they may indeed be real. He said: “It was a bit of a shock when I blew them up, I did a double take. “I went out afterwards and took pictures of flies and gnats and they just don’t look the same. “People can decide for themselves what they are. “The message to people is to approach them with an open mind. “I think it’s one of those situations where you need to believe to see. “A lot of people who have seen them say they have brought a little bit of magic into their lives and there’s not enough of that around.”

John, who lives Rawtenstall, has posted some of his images on social media and says they have attracted much debate. The exhibition, called Rossendale Fairies, will be on show at The Whitaker Museum in Whitaker Park in Rossendale, throughout the spring.

John said the name is a nod to the famous story of the Cottingley fairies where two schoolgirls in Bradford claimed to have photographed fairies in their garden, which they confirmed 60 years later had been faked with cardboard cut-outs.

However he admits the creatures he snapped are a long way from the characters depicted in children’s stories and hopes his pictures will change people’s perceptions of them. “Everything gets stereotyped, whatever it is.

“But there are stranger things in life than fairies, and life grows everywhere. “I don’t believe they are just smaller versions of us and go home and have a cup of tea at the end of the day. “And one is suggesting they have any special powers. “From my experience they were just enjoying themselves and there was a little dance in the sunlight going on. “They are just beautiful pictures and beauty can make people believe.”

Toilet paper with 24 carat gold motifs that costs €179 a plop, erm, I mean pop

The humble loo roll is an item that almost everyone uses every day yet it seems to attract so little attention in the way of headlines.

But when one enterprising soul decided to emboss toilet paper with 24 carat gold motifs, it’s unsurprising that he raised a few eyebrows. The tissue is available to buy for an eye-watering €179 (£148) per roll thanks to German designer Fritz Loibl.

Luckily for toilet goers everywhere, or at least those with more money than sense, the bog roll can be shipped worldwide by his company Tissue Design. In an even more exciting turn of events, you can even choose to have your own customised design – perhaps your initials, or even the face of your least favourite politician.

According to Mr Loibl most of his customers buy his products as a gift and others simply for decoration. The majority of buyers are those who own businesses that deal with luxury hotels or the sale of luxury goods.

A dancing woman on Mars & Tiny Martian Statue Found By Curiosity Rover (March 2014) [video]

This statue is very similar in size and shape to the famous "woman figure," on Mars which has actually a woman half sitting, a man laying in front of her on the ground and a boy figure which is ahead of them, but mostly covered in Mars dust and sand.

25 Strangest Things Banned By Governments Around The World

From yellow clothing to time travel these are the 25 strangest things banned by governments around the world.

25 China: Game Consoles
In 2000 the Chinese government enacted the ban to prevent the youth from wasting their time and not working.

24 Russia: Emo Clothing
The government dubbed the style a “threat to national stability” and banned emo fashion in an attempt to bring down the high suicide rate among teens

23 Iran: “Western” Hair Cuts
Banned styles include mullets, ponytails, and spikes.
22 Saudi Arabia: Valentine’s Day
The ban included restrictions on anything and everything red being sold on Valentine’s Day. It has led, however, to a thriving black market.
21 Greece: Video Games
Although intended to be against electronic gambling machines, the law was written very broadly and led to the arrest of someone playing a video game in an internet cafe. After pressure from the EU the law was eventually changed.

20 China: Reincarnation Without Prior Consent
As crazy as it sounds this is China’s way of controlling the Tibetan Buddhists.

19 Denmark: Fortified foods
In Denmark there is apparently a strong fear in some circles of consuming too many vitamins. Unfortunately this has led to the banning of many popular products such as Ovaltine and Rice Crispies.

18 Romania: Scrabble
In the 80′s Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu had the game banned and described it as “overly intellectual” and a “subversive evil”.

17 Manila: Claire Danes
After referring to the city of Manila as ghastly, weird, and smelling of cockroaches, every film by Claire Danes was eradicated from the city and the star was denied any future entrance.

16 Denmark: Most Baby Names
There are 24,000 approved government names for parents to choose from. If they want a different name then they have to apply for permission.

15 China: Avatar in 2D
Apparently the idea of people siding with an indigenous population against an imperialistic force wasn’t received well by the Chinese government. They did allow the movie to be released in 3D but the country has almost no 3D theaters so it made little difference.

14 NSA: Furbies
Although it wasn’t a nationwide ban, it was technically the government. In 1999 the NSA got paranoid that the toys could be recording classified information.

13 Malaysia: Yellow clothing
From t-shirts and wrist bands to hats and shoelaces, in 2011 the Malaysian government declared it illegal to wear yellow as that was the color of a certain group of opposition activists.

12 China: Jasmine
After the jasmine revolution in Tunisia inspired Chinese protesters the government didn’t just crack down on the protesters…it banned the flower itself.

11 USA: Haggis
Traditional Scottish haggis are made with sheep’s lung which has been an illegal food product in the United States for 40 years.

10 Cuba: Cell Phones
During Fidel Castro’s reign only high ranking government officials were allowed to have them

9 Singapore: Chewing Gum
Since 1992 the import and sale of chewing gum has been illegal in the city in order to keep the city streets and public places clean.

8 Iran: Mannequins
Ok, not all mannequins, but you better not have any female mannequins without a hijab.

7 Bangladesh: Plastic bags
When they outlawed plastic bags in 2002 Bangladesh started a trend with France, Tanzania, and Mexico following.

6 Saudi Arabia: Driving for women
Although there is no written law against females driving, licenses are not issued to women.

5 France: Ketchup
In 2011 France banned ketchup from school cafeterias to preserve French cuisine. That is, unless you are eating French fries…then it is still legal.

4 Bolivia: McDonald’s
Once again, there is technically no law banning McDonald’s in Bolivia but if laws are meant to be the will of the people, the fact that almost no Bolivians ate at McDonald’s during its short stint in the country was as effective as any law at driving the golden arches out. Today it is the only Latin American country without them.

3 Sweden: Spanking
Forget banning school spanking, in Sweden not even parents can spank their kids.

2 Canada: Baby Walker
After studies in Canada showed that babies have delayed motor development when raised with walkers, they were banned in 2004. Today, Canadian babies learn to walk the old fashioned way.

1 China: Time Travel
Apparently due to the “frivolous” treatment of history by many TV shows and films that incorporate elements of time travel, Chinese censors have been cracking down in recent years.

Fossil On Mars Points To Ancient Ocean With Life (March 31, 2014) [video]

I have a similar ammonite fossil on my desk right now as I type this. Its an ancient water animal, a kind of Mollusc. On Earth most these style of molluscs are 200-400 million years old, but on Mars...who knows?
As the rover was taking photos, it indadvertedly recorded ancient aliens sea life. I'm sure NASA would have covered it up had they seen it, but this does confirm there there was water on Mars. For some reason, NASA is saving this information for when they need it...maybe a push to save NASA or a push for larger budgets.

Several things we know to be true about this photo. 1st this is a fossil. 2nd this was taken by the Mars rover. 3rd the photo was put on the JPL site by NASA.

What this means is NASA cannot dispute this claim nor will they ever try. NASA will not turn the rover around to reexamine this fossil, nor do they care...since they already have an abundance of Top Secret images that expose alien life on Mars.
