Bobby the cocker spaniel has become a local celebrity in Changchun, China, for begging for money and using it to buy his own snacks. How could you resist those puppy dog eyes?
Bobby the cocker spaniel has been using his innocent looks to charm shoppers into handing over cash in Changchun, the capital of northeast China’s Jilin Province.
The crafty little beggar has become a local celebrity as he begs for money and, if successful, pops to the shop to buy his favourite treats including sausages and chicken wings.
The eight-year-old dog waits for unsuspecting victims by his owner Wang Yun’s lottery station. Once he sees a customer taking out money for tickets, he sits alongside them and begs.
As soon as he is lucky enough to earn a one yuan note he will pick it up in his mouth and rush to a nearby grocery store. According to Yun, Bobby has bought snacks himself for the past five or six years.
"I can't remember when he started to buy himself, but he is smart enough to do many things," she said. She added that Bobby can't be fooled. If a piece of paper along with a currency note were put before him he would always pick up the note. And if a small note and a large denomination note were put in front of him he would always take the large one.
